The Club
Jericho is a beautiful beachfront recreational facility located on the southern shore of Burrard Inlet in the Point Grey area overlooking English Bay, a scenic 10 minute drive from downtown Vancouver. The Jericho Tennis Club began as a swimming club on the sandy shores of Jericho Beach in 1916. Jericho has grown over the years to become a vibrant racquets club with over 2000 members of all ages. Jericho provides its membership with both an athletic and social environment that epitomizes the West Coast Lifestyle. |

Facility
There are 12 outdoor courts, 8 of which are surfaced with Rebound Ace similar to the courts used at the Australian Open, 4 are hard courts. Four courts are lighted for play in the evening during the summer months. During the winter months 8 of the courts are covered by a bubble for indoor play. The club also has four international size squash courts. The tennis and squash facilities are enhanced by a fitness centre, swimming pool, outdoor spa and barbecues. The essence of Jericho Tennis Club is its clubhouse, completed in 1998, it takes full advantage of the waterfront location with views across Burrard Inlet to the North Shore mountains and full access to Jericho Beach for swimming, kayaking and sail boarding. The clubhouse contains a variety of amenities: Pro-Shop, locker and steam rooms, games room and club wide dining, bar and lounge areas. Food and beverage service is provided daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner and the club is also available for special events. |

Programs
Jericho's coaching staff led by Head Pro, John Picken offer private and group lessons as well as clinics for every level. Whether you are a beginner, social or tournament player there is something for everyone. There are men's and women's spring and winter leagues and Jericho plays host to a variety of club, city and international tournaments. Popular social tennis events for members include the Javis Cup, Grimbledon and Calcutta. Members interested in competitive tennis are able to play in the club league as well as winter and summer tournaments. Social tennis players have weekly evening mixers to which all new members are welcome to attend. Jericho has a thriving Junior program with a series of fun group coaching camps geared to all levels. Annually, in late July, Jericho hosts the HSBC Women's Open which features up and coming professional players from the international ranks. |
